Common questions
What planners usually ask before booking Los Compadres for a party, office lunch, or production day.
Two to four weeks works for most Street Essentials and Crowd Favorite bookings. Full Truck Experience dates — especially Friday–Sunday — often book four to six weeks out. Last-minute requests are possible when the calendar is open; tell us your date and we’ll be honest about what we can deliver.
We’re based in Elmhurst, Queens and regularly serve Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, and nearby Long Island / Westchester spots. Travel time and parking access affect the quote. Sites more than about 45 minutes from our home base may include a travel fee.
Yes. Vegetarian options are standard, and we can plan gluten-conscious builds, dairy-light plates, and spice levels when you flag them on the inquiry. For severe allergies we’ll review cross-contact with you before the event so your guests stay safe.
A deposit locks your date after we confirm the menu and logistics. The remaining balance is due before service (card or invoice, depending on the booking). Cancellations and weather reschedules are spelled out on your quote so there are no surprises.
Most packages start around 40 guests. Per-guest pricing scales with headcount, entrée count, drinks, staff, and whether you want the full truck on site. We’ll send a clear line-item quote — not a vague range — once we know your date and location.
For drop-off or buffet-style service we need a level serving area and vehicle access for unload. For the Full Truck Experience we need legal street or lot parking for the truck, roughly a 10×20 ft footprint, and clearance for the service window. We’ll confirm power, permits, and load-in time on the walkthrough.
Outdoor events should have a covered backup when possible. Light rain usually doesn’t stop service; severe weather may shift to your indoor plan or a new date. Venue changes are fine if we still have access and timing — just give us as much notice as you can so we can re-check logistics.
